What Would You Do?

 If I were in complete control of everything and everyone except for the general public, but by all appearances my position of power had been blatantly stolen from me, here is what I would do...

I would step away and out of sight. I would arrange to be seen playing golf and generally disengaging from any and all power structures save those which concerned my own personal interests and safety, and of my own immediate family.

But behind the scenes, I would make everyone who seems to be in power, but over whom I had control, to feverishly try to enact every destructive and unpopular idea, agenda item, and policy proposal they have ever espoused either publicly or otherwise, no matter how ridiculous, and I would have them do it through extra-constitutional and illegal means and methods. I would make them inflict every bit of misery and suffering they have ever imagined upon the public, and I would make them do it as fast as they possibly could manage.

For that matter, I might even tell them to impeach me, and to make something up if they didn't have anything ready to go toward that end, and I would provide them with a script saying what an evil, horrible person I am, and how evil and dangerous all my supporters obviously are, and with ideas as to what should be done to them.

And I would do this until the People were on the very brink of rising up on their own to overthrow my enemies without my help.

And then, seconds before the chaos was just about to erupt and the mayhem was just about to reach the point of inevitability, I would show back up and say...

"I can help." 

That's what I would do...

Not This Again...

I used to be a famous blogger. 

Everyone who read my blog loved me, no one ever disagreed with anything I said.  I was able to change hearts and minds, enlighten and educate, and held tremendous sway over public opinion through the undeniable logic and wisdom contained within my observations. 

But I gave all that up several years ago, and devoted my time to more important pursuits, like playing with my children. 

But, since nobody really wants 5,000 word essays in their Facebook comments, I am returning to the blogosphere, so that maybe I can avoid preaching at random people on street corners. (At least for a few more months, anyway.) 

I hope you find something interesting here. But, I'm doing this for me.
